Our Purpose
What to Expect When You Visit

First of all, you can expect to receive a warm welcome. Many will introduce themselves to you and someone will ask you to fill out a visitor's card.

Second, you can expect not to be called on or embarrassed in any way. We honor visitors as our guests and do not want to draw undue attention to them so as to make them feel ill at ease.

Third, you can expect for all things to be done in an orderly manner (1 Corinthians 14:40). Although you can expect our members to fervently and enthusiastically worship God, our worship will show deep respect for God and respect for everyone in the assembly.

Fourth, you can expect for the service to be biblical in nature and practice, focusing on activities that edify and encourage.

There will be enthusiastic singing (Ephesians 5:19). Our song and prayer times together are usually associated with a theme that centers on some characteristic of deity or something about the life of Christians. We emphasize congregational singing – using both older and newer songs.

We will bow in fervent prayers that offer thanksgiving to God and petition Him for the needs of the family, the church, the community, and the nation (Acts 2:42). In fact, our interest in world evangelism keeps those of other nations in our prayers. At this time we send our own members as teachers to China and help evangelists in Africa and India.

On each Lord’s Day we take time to remember our Lord’s death and examine ourselves while reverently participating in the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:16-33; Acts 20:7)

You will hear biblical preaching that will reprove, rebuke, and encourage (2 Timothy 4:1-5). Though the teaching is not designed to be entertaining, it is meant to be practical, interesting, and truthful. It is our belief that His TRUTH will set you free, His WATER will quench your thirst and His BREAD will give you life. Therefore, our teachers will strive to avoid teaching their own opinions and the philosophies of men. You will hear the scriptures emphasized – not gimmicks, personalities, and entertainment.

If your family stays after our worship time, you can sit with other seekers in bible study for all ages. Our children from the age of 2-17 go through the entire Bible story every 2½ years with their peers. By the time they get to be teens the great majority of our young people have a good background of Bible themes, characters, and know their Lord and Savior. We emphasize that the Bible school at the building is simply a tool for parents to use in training their own children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:1-4). If you or your children are beginning Bible students, don’t worry, we offer beginner classes and personal help to get you to a level of maturity.

Last of all, you can expect to have a listening ear given to you if you believe that the truth has not been spoken. We intend to worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24) and you will be our best friend if you can help us do better. We are thankful for God’s grace and patience in giving us time to be more like His Son. We are thankful for anyone who can help and encourage us to be closer to Him.
